Upcoming speaking engagements

 

Larry will be in Washington, D.C. the week of Sept. 29, speaking at two policy events open to the public.

On Sept.30th, Larry joins FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel, U.S. Ambassador Karen Kornbluh and others at an event co-sponsored by the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy and Democracy, A Journal of Ideas for a symposium on Regulating the Digital Economy.  Larry will be discussing his article in the Fall issue of the magazine, “Managing the Big Bang:  The Regulator’s Dilemma.”  The event will be moderated by E.J. Dionne, Jr., columnist for The Washington Post.

On October 1, Larry will be at the National Press Club speaking at an event sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business on “The Open Internet?  Classifying Communications Services.”

Both events are free.  Registration is required.

Larry Moderates Capitol Hill Symposium on Internet Regulation June 11, 2014

On June 11, 2014, Larry will host a symposium on Internet regulation sponsored by the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy and its Evolution of Regulation and Innovation project.  The event will include comments from Aspen Institute Communications Fellow Blair Levin and former Akami CTO Patrick Gilmore and a panel discussion featuring senior industry and think-tank speakers.

Registration is free.  Lunch will be served.

Larry Joins Georgetown Business School Center

Larry has been named the Project Director for the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy’s new “Evolution of Regulation and Innovation” project. The Center is housed at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.

Larry will be working closely with faculty director John M. Mayo to develop fact-based policy recommendations for lawmakers and regulators to bring 19th century laws and rules dealing with disruptive innovations into the 21st century.
